safety

At Cornerstone, we integrate Process Safety and Risk Studies to define a robust project loss prevention philosophy touching all the subjects on how process safety interacts with other engineering disciplines. Process Safety is based on best design principles along with detailed and thorough operating as well as maintenance practices. We propose a disciplined framework to manage the integrity of operating systems and processes and thereby preventing and controlling events that have the potential to release hazardous materials and energy.

Safety and Risk Assessment Services

Our safety and risk assessment services are extended into multiple categories including work facilitation, risk assessment, safety cases, health safety and environmental critical equipment systems. Workshop Facilitation communicates and instructs on the fundamental concepts of hazard identification (HAZID), hazard and operability (HAZOP), inherent safe design (ISD) and simultaneous operations. Risk Assessment helps our clients identify sensible measures accurately to control the risks through various tools such as quantitative risk assessment, fire and explosion risk assessment, building risk assessment, fire and gas mapping, evacuation and rescue analysis, and emergency system survivability analysis. In addition, our safety consultation services are extended to Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), Drilling HSE, and Health Safety and Environmental Critical Equipment Systems (HSECS). COMAH services cover both low tier and upper tier services demonstrating a particular facility is designed, constructed, commissioned, operated and maintained in such a way that risks are mitigated to an acceptable level. Drilling HSE services ensure that on-site equipment is Fit for Purpose and performs as designed. In addition, HECS protects workers and the environment from a major hazard involving fire, explosion and the release of toxic gases and fumes.

Environment

We deliver a wide range of services for the systematic identification, evaluation and control of risks to the environment. Clients receive the benefit of our consultants’ ability to identify, assess and implement effective management and operational controls to mitigate environmental impacts, minimize waste and increase efficiency. Cornerstone is familiar with the legal requirements and procedure for environmental studies and its approval as per Environmental Protection Act 1997 of Pakistan as well as with the policies and guidelines of international donors regarding environmental and social aspects of development projects.
