Will AI Put Architects Out of Work in the Gulf?
AI can generate a hundred façades in a minute. It still can't sit in a majlis with a client. Our view on AI in architectural practice.

A client recently showed us twelve AI-generated villa images and asked which one we could build. The honest answer was: none of them, exactly. And all of them, partly.
What AI does well
It is fast at options. Massing studies, mood images, early renders and document drafting that once took days can take hours. We use these tools, and we would be dishonest to pretend otherwise.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't know that the plot has a 6-metre setback. It doesn't know the client's mother needs a ground-floor bedroom. It doesn't understand fire egress, or why the kitchen needs a staff entrance, or what the municipality rejected last month.
So will it replace architects?
It will replace some tasks. It will not replace judgement, responsibility or relationships — the three things clients actually pay for. The practices at risk are those whose value was only ever the drawing itself.
How should clients think about it?
As a faster way to reach good conversations. An AI image is a starting brief, not a design. Bring it to us — we'll tell you which parts will work on your site, and why.
